Speaker: Jeff Boccacio: He is an Artist and Sculptor. He designed and helped build the 9-11 memorial. Peter Golden asked him to speak. He graduated from Natick High School in 1990. He went to Dean College and Arizona State. He worked in Los Angeles in television and film for 13 years doing special effects. He worked on Men In Black and Iron Man. He loves architecture and classical sculpture, especially in New York City. He left LA soon after his daughter was born and is happy to return. He loves Natick. When he returned to the area, he worked for Sky Light Studios and built statues such as the bronze Fallen Firefighters Sculpture in Boston at the State House. He loves history and it is one of the things that inspires him. He was honored to be able to help the town put together the 9-11 memorial by the Police Station. While designing the memorial, he noted that the steel beam had serial numbers on it. He was asked by Nick Ferri, friend and Firefighter, to help figure out fund raising with local businesses and designed it along with some of the Natick firefighters. He first designed the memorial using a scale model for approval. To help with continued maintenance costs on the 9-11 Memorial, a brick can be purchased from the Fire Department with your message on it. He is currently designing a Vietnam Memorial for the Metrowest Transit Authority.
