The meeting was called to order by President Judy Shea. Marc Soloway led us in the Pledge. Verna led us in “There’s no Business Like Show Business”, and Dr. Joseph Keefe provided the invocation.
Guests: 1) Marge Balcom, President of the Board of Directors of the Natick Historical Society, 2) Kate Leavey, Artistic Director of Sound & Spirit, who was also our guest speaker, and 3) Sharon Durgin, Marketing Director of Sound & Spirit.
Announcements: President Judy Shea had a few announcements: 1) She thanked everyone who was involved with the Open Door last Thursday. Peter Golden’s garlic meatloaf recipe was a great hit even without Peter! 2) She mentioned that if anyone has a speaker for one of the summer meetings to please reach out to Artie Fair at abf. 3) She said that the Board would be meeting this Thursday @ 5:15 @ her home. Directions will be provided by email shortly.
Our Guest Speaker was Kate Leavey, Artistic Director of Sound & Spirit. Sound & Spirit is a multi-generational choir that was started here in Natick 3 years ago. It has already grown to over 120 members. One of its goals is to link art with activism through comradery and getting involved in the community. They meet on Wednesday evenings at the Community/Senior Center.
The Raffle was won by Vinny Tingley. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the winning card.
Respectfully submitted by Tobe Gerard.
