​ ​The meeting was called to order by President Judy, we were led in the pledge by Mark Soloway, Verna led us in, “My Country Tis of thee” and​ Joe Keefe shared a lovely invocation to introduce 2015.

Visitor: Michelle Cromwell and is very interested in joining.

Announcements:​

–There is a Rotary PR workshop January 12 from 7:00 PM – 7:30 PM that is a webinar on creating club stationary.

–There is a Rotary social meeting at the Doubletree Hotel in Leominster January 14 from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM.

–Power of Change on January 22 in Concord, MA. It is a program about women based on peace internationally

–On January 18 at 3:00 PM the intergenerational performers called Sound and Spirit will be performing “Villains” . At some part during the performance, there will be a skit to help introduce Embrace A Family. Seniors tickets are $8 and adult tickets are $12.

–Next Open Door is January 22. Arrive around 4:15 – 4:30 PM. Peter will be having barbecued chicken, roasted potatoes, green beans and his usual confectioners delight.

–Peter Golden will be hosting a history series on Native American Indian relations January 8 at the Morse Institute Library 7:00 – 8:30 PM. This is the first of a five part series.

–On January 16 at 2:00 at the Morse Institute Library, Carol Krentzman will be displaying her stained glass quilt creation.

–On Tuesday, January 20 at our Rotary meeting, we will be hosting the grant recipients where they will receive their checks.

–Eric Lazzari says the new website will be up and running shortly — check it out!

–Peter Golden recently saw Milt at the Carlisle Nursing Home in Framingham on Winter Street. Milt would love to have visitors.

–Peter Golden is going January 13th to Marlboro for a meeting about Bandy Heffler. Volunteers needed to host Rotarians from England for about 3 nights this fall.

–Rotary is looking into having CPR instruction sometime during 2015

–Steve B mentioned the Natick Police Dispatcher who is 25 years old was diagnosed with MS. There is an event this Friday at the Hampton Inn. Tickets are $25. He is going for bone marrow treatments.

–The Social Committee is planning a Ski Trip February 24th ​to Wachusett Mountain. More information to follow. Mark your calendar.

–Peter Golden’s son owns Uno’s in Framingham. Uno’s is interested in having us come the last Tuesday of the month for our regular meeting. Details to follow.

–The last dictionary project is January 8 at 12:00 PM at Lilja School. Come if you are able.

–Our visitor, Michelle Cromwell, recently hosted a peace keeping circle that discusses issues such as racial inequities. The goal of the meeting is to have a safe environment to discuss issues and leave with an action plan.
