The meeting was called to order by President Judy, Mark led us in the pledge, Verna played “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong which gave this scribe goose bumps. Trish provided an inspiring invocation about the meaning of Rotary and quoting Rabbi Harold Kushner.
GUESTS/VISITORS: Dave Whitmore from the Framingham Club was visiting along with all of our grant recipients (see attachment).
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- President Judy announced that:
- The “Sound & Spirit” performance (a multi-generational choir) sponsoring Embrace a Family was a BIG success this past Sunday at Natick high (700+ people) and may be seen on Pegasus
- A special Rotary presentation entitled “The Power of Change: Celebrating 25 Years of Women in Rotary” is taking place on Jan, 22nd from 7-9 PM at the Fenn School, 516 Monument St. in Concord
- The 8th annual “Winter Blues” symposium (about dealing with winter depression) takes place at Wellesley College on the22nd from 6-8 PM
- The volunteer “scribe” for February will be Mark Blumenthal
- The first Tour de Natick subcommittee meeting for 2015 will be held after the meeting on Feb. 3rd at the Dolphin
- Peter Golden announced that
- Open Door is this Thursday the 22nd at 4:15-6:15
- Our meeting on Jan 27th will take place at Pizzeria Uno located on Rte. 9 in Framingham
- Bryant Hill announced that the social committee has chosen Feb. 24th to hold our weekly meeting at Mt. Wachusett with more details to follow.
AWARD OF GRANTS: President Judy proceeded to hand out the grant awards to the all of the recipients present (see attached list).
