Natick Rotary Sprocket 9/22/15

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – Marc led the pledge in Shannon’s absence.

SONG – Verna led us in “Battle Hymn of the Republic” without any ‘cheat sheets’, but the group did a fair job of pulling it off.

INVOCATION – Dr. Keefe returned from vacation and read a poem about Autumn.

GUESTS – Dr. Susan Swick, a guest of Mark’s, who was also our featured speaker. Also Stephanie Blumenthal who joined us for the speaker.

ANNOUNCEMENTS –

Artie: The golf tournament is over, Eric won the trophy. Artie thanked the early arrivers, Rich, Joey, Angela, Linda, etc. He shared that we raised approximately $16K, totals not in yet.

Bryant: He and Rachel are trying to set up a visit to Jack Abby Brewery in Framingham, was looking at October 20th, for an evening meeting. Trish shared that we do have a speaker scheduled for that date so more to come.

Trish: Judy received an email regarding Rotary Night at the Providence Bruins, November 13th.

Board of Director’s meeting is this Thursday.

Next week is club assembly and we will be meeting at Morse Tavern.

Peter: Allan Weiss will be speaking on October 27th. He is a co-founder of Case Shiller Weiss, Inc., the company that created the Standard & Poor Case-Shiller index.

SPEAKER –

Mark introduced his friend and associate Susan Swick. Susan is the Chief of Child Psychiatry at Newton Wellesley Hospital. Susan talked about the PACT program – Parenting At Challenging Times, a program that helps parents who have been diagnosed with cancer and who have minor children.

RAFFLE –

George had the winning ticket, but pulled the 4 of hearts.
