Natick Rotary Sprocket June 2, 2015

This meeting was called to order by President Judy Shea, Mark S led us in the pledge. Verna played the English “Tomorrow”, and Joe Keefe provided out invocation.

Guests: Nancy Cantor, our guest speaker, Adam Swartz and Andy Raneriof Fitness Together.

Announcements:

· Peter Golden announced that he and Vinnie will be away for the next Open Door on June 18, 2015, so Beth will be leading the charge, he asked for 6 volunteers to cook 3 meatloafs each, 1 for a salad, and 1 for 3 sheetcakes. If you can help reach out to Beth at bsbyrne.

  • Judy reminded every member that volunteer season is upon us. Stating with Father’s Day Tour de Natick on June 21st. We will need all members to commit to showing up and assisting. The Cheery Plant delivery will be on this Saturday June 6th meeting at Home Depot and delivering plants from 9:00 to 10:30. We need a few more volunteers for this event.
  • Marc Soloway asked members to take and wear leftover tee shirts from last year to promote the upcoming Tour
  • Steve gave a “Tour” update, reminding club members that they still need mile marker sponsor. Please solicit your contacts for sponsorships. Peter also asked for potential families or children that could be featured in a newspaper article
  • Mark reminded the Club that June 15th will be our Annual Installation of Officers at the Wellesley College Club beginning at 7:00 pm. Invitations have been mailed to each member, please RSVP as soon as possible if you and any guest will be attending (mablumenthal) Hank Philippi Ryan will be the featured speaker for the evening.
  • There will be no regular meeting on June 16 due to the installation on Monday night June 15th.
  • Board Meeting Tonight Morse Institute 5:00 pm
  • We received a couple of letters from grateful recipients 1) TOPS Soccer Program, and 2) for our mini Diaper Drive a few weeks ago.

Guest Speakers:

Our Guest Speakers today was Nancy Cantorof the Entrepreneurs connection. She spoke on becoming a CEO, Chief Entrepreneurial Officer. Entrepreneurs are visionaries who live in the future, Managers are the ones who make sure the visions get done are living in the past, and Technicians who get the work done are living in the present. She added that when looking at the business you want to build, think about how you want your life to be, so your life isn’t consume by the business.
