SPEAKER – Joey and Vinnie talked about membership and led a forum and discussion on increasing club membership. They attended a meeting a few weeks back about encouraging membership growth. Some ideas were shared around acquiring members, and talking about ‘default’ methods.

Joey said to grow the club we need to find members who can (1) make the time commitment and (2) make the financial commitment.

Awareness is one good way to help. Discussed were initiatives to get soldiers from the local base to help with events; doing a billboard on the Metro West busses (not available for about a year); Natickopoly game (fundraiser and growth initiative).

Peter spoke about having the club move to a more technologically modern membership, having meetings in different locations, and targeting businesses, government, etc. Emphasize the ‘thought leadership’ aspect of the club.

The club engaged in a lively discussion. Ben shared that doing good deeds was what attracted him to the club and wondered how we can use that to attract more. Mark suggested a ‘Rotarian of the week’ feature in the Patch, and Rotary license plates. Sharon had some ideas around ‘You might be a Rotarian’.

RAFFLE – Mark won the raffle ticket, but drew the 10 of clubs.

Respectfully submitted,

Rotarian Bryan
